Jared, our co-founder, is from South Africa, where rolling blackouts impact large swaths of the country every single day. As Jared and Andrew, our other co-founder, began to explore how to provide more flexibility during outage events, they determined that the core technology needed is dynamic load balancing, which can only truly be achieved at the circuit breaker level. And yet, despite being a century-old, ubiquitous product, circuit breakers have seen very little innovation since they were invented.

That’s what we’ve set out to do: reimagine the circuit breaker.
